Parsippany-Troy Hills is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the township had a total population of 53,238, making it the 16th most populous municipality in New Jersey. Parsippany-Troy Hills encompasses an area of 25.447 square miles and includes three main areas: Lake Hiawatha, Mount Tabor, and Parsippany.

History

Parsippany-Troy Hills has a long history dating back to the Lenape Native Americans who inhabited the area. European settlers began arriving in the early 18th century and established an agricultural community. Morris Canal and railroads improved transportation to the area in the 19th century. The town underwent suburban residential and commercial development after World War II. Parsippany-Troy Hills was incorporated as a township in 1958 through the merger of Parsippany-Troy Hills Township and Parsippany-Troy Hills Borough.

According to the 2020 Census, Parsippany-Troy Hills has a population of 53,238 people. The racial makeup of the town is 62.7% White, 7.5% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 25.7% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 2.0% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. 22.7% of residents identify as Hispanic or Latino of any race.
