Chillum is a city located in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. According to the Wikipedia page for Chillum, the population was 33,513 at the 2010 census. History

The name "Chillum" comes from the Algonquian word "Chilam," which means beaver dam creek. The area was inhabited by Nacotchtank Native Americans prior to European settlement. In 1741, an 81.5 acre tract of land called Chillum Castle Manor was patented to John Bradford. Chillum remained a rural farming area until the late 1940s when Riggs Park and ChillumHeights were developed as some of the earliest suburbs in Prince George's County. The population rapidly expanded in the 1950s and 1960s.
