West Haven is a city in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States. According to the 2020 census, the population of West Haven is 54,644 making it the 11th largest city in Connecticut. West Haven is located right off Interstate 95 and is bordered by Orange to the north, Milford to the southwest, New Haven to the east, and Long Island Sound to the south.

The area that is now West Haven was originally inhabited by Native Americans of the Quinnipiac tribe. The first European settlers arrived in the 1640s.
