History
Wyoming was first settled in 1832 and was officially incorporated as a city in 1959. The city got its name from the Wyoming Territory which was named after the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania. Some key moments in Wyoming’s history include:

- 1848 – A post office was established in the community originally named Kent.
