Colerain is a city located in Hamilton County in the state of Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of Colerain was 59,626 making it one of the most populous suburbs of Cincinnati.

According to the Wikipedia page, the population of Colerain was 59,626 as per the 2020 census. This makes it one of the major suburban townships in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan area. The racial makeup of the city as per 2019 estimates was 79.3% White, 14.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 1.8% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.1% from other races, and 2.8% from two or more races. 4.4% of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race.

History

The area now known as Colerain was originally inhabited by Native American tribes like the Shawnee. The first settlers of European descent arrived in the late 18th century. In 1802, Colerain Township was organized and named after the Colerain Settlement in North Carolina where many of the early settlers originated from. The creation of the township made it one of the first established townships in Hamilton County.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, Colerain was primarily an agricultural community. After World War II, with the growth of suburbs, it began to grow rapidly in population. In the 1970s, Colerain Township was split into the city of Colerain and Colerain Township. Today it continues to be a growing suburban community in the Cincinnati metro area.
