History

Henrietta was named after Henrietta Laura Pulteney, daughter of Sir William Pulteney, a major British investor from the 18th century who owned the land that became the town. The Town of Henrietta was formed in 1818 from parts of the Towns of Pittsford and Brighton. Henrietta was later split up into smaller towns, the most notable being the Town of Rush in 1822.
