Cheektowaga is a town located in Erie County in western New York. With a population of around 88,226 as of the 2020 census, it is the second largest suburb of Buffalo after Amherst. Cheektowaga contains the Buffalo Niagara International Airport as well as Villa Maria College.

Cheektowaga's history dates back to the 1600s when it was inhabited by the Neutral Nation of Native Americans. The town was later settled by European immigrants in the early 1800s. It was officially established in 1839 and originally included the modern-day village of Sloan. Cheektowaga developed rapidly in the late 19th and early 20th century with the rise of rail, industrial and airplane transportation. It incorporated as a village in 1908 and became a town in 1915.
