Longfellow House-Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site

Built in 1759, this former home of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was also George Washington's headquarters during the Siege of Boston from 1775-1776. The site preserves the historical home decorated with artifacts from the Longfellow and Washington families, along with a museum and gardens.

Transportation

Cambridge is served by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) subway system. The Red Line has stations in Cambridge at Alewife, Porter, Harvard, Central, Kendall/MIT and Davis Square.
