Pleasant was platted in 1832. The community was named for the first postmaster James Pleasant. Like many towns in Indiana, agriculture was central to the early economy and development of Pleasant. Today, while farming is still important, the economy is more diversified.

Wolf Park

Wolf Park is an educational park located just outside of Pleasant that is home to wolves and foxes. Visitors can take tours to learn about the animals and observe them up close.

Prophetstown State Park

Just 10 minutes north of Pleasant is Prophetstown State Park. The park features hiking trails, camping, fishing, boating and more. The most notable attraction is a reconstructed Native American village that depicts life in the area during the 18th century.

The nearest commercial airport is Purdue University Airport in Lafayette, located about 15 minutes from Pleasant. Indianapolis International Airport is just over an hour's drive from Pleasant.

Pleasant United Methodist Church

Founded in 1832, Pleasant United Methodist Church is one of the oldest churches in Tippecanoe County. The historic building was constructed in 1864 and is located in downtown Pleasant.
