Wheaton is a suburban city located approximately 30 miles west of downtown Chicago in DuPage County, Illinois. With a population of over 50,000 residents, Wheaton serves as the county seat of DuPage County. History

Wheaton was founded in 1837 by brothers John and Warren Lillard and named after Warren Wheaton, a pastor who came to the area in the 1830s. The Lillard brothers offered free plots of land to anyone willing to build along the DuPage River and the population began to grow.
