Dundee is a village located in Kane County, Illinois. As of the 2020 census, the population of Dundee was 3,809 residents. The village is part of the Chicago metropolitan area.

History

Dundee was founded in 1835 by two men - John and Samuel Dundee. They built a mill next to the Fox River which brought settlers and industry to the area. By 1837, the first train came through the area on the Galena and Chicago Union railroad. Over the next several decades, Dundee grew with the railroad and Fox River transportation.
