San Bernardino is a city located in the Inland Empire region of southern California. With a population of over 200,000 as of the 2020 census, it is the 17th largest city in California. San Bernardino is the county seat of San Bernardino County, California's largest county by area.

History

San Bernardino was first settled by Mexican families in 1810. In 1851, Mormons purchased the Rancho San Bernardino land grant and built a stockade near the present day location of the San Bernardino County Court House. In 1857, the settlement was officially named San Bernardino after Saint Bernardino of Siena.

San Bernardino County Court House

The historic San Bernardino County Court House located at 351 N Arrowhead Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92415. It was built in 1926 in the neoclassical style. The court house is home to the county's superior court and still in active use.

California Theater

The historic California Theater is located at 562 W. 4th Street, San Bernardino, CA 92401. It was built in 1928 in the Spanish Colonial Revival and Mission Revival styles. The 1,700 seat theater was the first building in San Bernardino to have air conditioning. It hosts concerts and events today.

San Manuel Amphitheater

The San Manuel Amphitheater is located at 2575 Glen Helen Pkwy, San Bernardino, CA 92407. It is one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the US with a capacity of 65,000. The amphitheater opened in 1982 and hosts concerts and music festivals.
