Orangevale is a census-designated place in Sacramento County, California. As of the 2020 census, the population of Orangevale was 33,960. Orangevale is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Orangevale was founded in the mid-19th century as a mining town called "Orange Vale" after the wild orange groves that grew in the area. It was mostly an agricultural community until the 1950s when residential suburbs began to expand as people moved out from Sacramento.
