History

Lake Forest was founded in 1963 by the Irvine Company and was one of Orange County's first master-planned communities. The area was originally part of the Rancho Cañada de Los Alisos Mexican land grant. In the late 1960s, Lake Forest began a large transformation into residential areas as downstream water facilities were built.
