Shelby is a city located in Oceana County in the U.S. state of Michigan. According to the Wikipedia page for Shelby, the population was 1,910 at the 2010 census. Shelby is located at the junction of US Highway 31 and M-20.

History

Shelby was first settled in 1854 and was incorporated as a village in 1869. It was named for DeWitt C. Shelby, who purchased the land and platted the village. Shelby later incorporated as a city in 1957.
