Plymouth, Minnesota
Plymouth is a city located in Hennepin County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population of Plymouth was 79,595 making it the 6th largest city in Minnesota. Plymouth is part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area.
History
The original settlers were mostly immigrants from New England known as “Yankees” who were descended from the English Puritans. Plymouth was founded in 1855 by settlers from Plymouth, New Hampshire. Plymouth is located at 45.010583, -93.455278. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 35.03 square miles (90.75 km2), of which 34.00 square miles (88.04 km2) is land and 1.03 square miles (2.66 km2) is water.

As of the 2020 US Census, there were 79,595 people, 31,602 households, and 20,290 families residing in the city. The racial makeup of the city was 83.6% White, 5.2% African American, 0.3% Native American, 7.9% Asian, 1.0% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.2% of the population.
