Plano, Texas is a city located in Collin and Denton counties in the state of Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 298,778 making it the 9th most populous city in Texas and the 70th most populous city in the United States. History

Plano was established in 1873 during the construction of the Houston and Central Texas Railway. The city was incorporated in 1881. Early settlers were mostly farmers growing cotton, grain and cattle.
