Background: Petition Referrals Our clients are seeking permanent and seasonal petition collectors. The Campaign Petition Gatherer will play a crucial role in our organization's mission by actively engaging with the public and gathering signatures for petitions related to various social, environmental, and political issues. As a Campaign Petition Gatherer, you will have the opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds, educate them about our cause, and inspire them to take action. Your efforts will contribute to building a strong and vibrant community of supporters who share our vision for a better future.
Roles/Duties:
- Conduct face-to-face interactions with individuals in public spaces, such as parks, community centers, and events, to collect signatures for petitions.
- Engage with potential supporters by effectively communicating the mission and goals of our organization and the importance of the petition campaign.
- Provide clear and concise information about the specific issue addressed by the petition, addressing any questions or concerns from potential signatories.
- Maintain accurate records of collected signatures, ensuring the proper documentation of names, contact details, and relevant information.
- Actively seek out opportunities to gather signatures at public gatherings, rallies, and other events where potential supporters may be present.
- Collaborate with the campaign team to develop strategies to maximize the impact of the petition campaign.
- Stay informed about current social and political issues related to the petition campaign and be able to articulate the importance of these issues to potential signatories.
- Attend regular team meetings and provide feedback on the effectiveness of campaign strategies.
- Uphold ethical standards and represent the organization's values and mission in all interactions.
- Petition Submission: Submit collected signatures before deadlines, ensuring they are organized and properly formatted according to the requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Previous petition, door knocking, get out to vote, canvassing or face-to-face selling experience preferred
- Strong persuasive abilities and the capacity to inspire others to take action.
- Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and maintain accurate records of collected signatures.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and the ability to leverage them to raise awareness about the petition campaign is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Commitment to maintaining professionalism and adhering to ethical standards while representing the organization.
