Background: Petition Referrals Our clients require permanent and temporary petition collectors. As Signature Gatherer Petitioner in the city of Scott and state of Louisiana, you are responsible for collecting and documenting legitimate signatures for campaign petitions, actively promoting the campaign’s objectives, and interacting with the public to build support and understanding for the cause. The role requires excellent communication, resilience, and a strong understanding of the campaign’s goals, ensuring a strong representation and effectiveness in driving the campaign forward.
Roles/Duties:
- Conduct signature collection activities in designated areas, such as public events, shopping centers, parks, and other high-traffic locations.
- Engage with members of the public in a courteous and persuasive manner to explain the purpose and importance of the petition or initiative.
- Clearly communicate the content and objectives of the petition to potential signatories, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Verify the eligibility and authenticity of signatures according to established guidelines and requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of collected signatures, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to legal and regulatory procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate and strategize signature gathering efforts, sharing best practices and insights.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest information regarding the petition or initiative being supported to effectively address inquiries and provide accurate information.
- Regularly report progress, challenges, and opportunities to the supervisor or manager, providing timely updates and feedback.

- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards while conducting signature gathering activities.
- Petition Submission: Submit collected signatures before deadlines, ensuring they are organized and properly formatted according to the requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Previous petition, door knocking, get out to vote, canvassing or face-to-face selling experience preferred
- Previous experience in a customer service, sales, or canvassing role is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and persuade individuals effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
- Physical stamina to spend long hours standing, walking, and engaging with the public.
