History

The area now known as Deerfield Beach was originally settled in the early 1890s by a man named Henry Deerfield. Deerfield became an incorporated town in 1925 with a population of 300 residents. After World War II, the city experienced significant growth and development. By the 1960s, Deerfield Beach had become a popular tourist destination. Incorporated as a city in 1970, Deerfield Beach continued to grow in population and economic activity.
