History
Davie was founded in the early 1900s by Tamara Toussaint and Jake Tannebaum. They purchased hundreds of acres of swampland and planted citrus trees and pineapples. In 1925, the town was incorporated and named after Robert P. Davie, a land developer who purchased 27,000 acres in the Everglades Drainage District.

Davie is located just southwest of Fort Lauderdale in Broward County. It covers a total area of 36.32 square miles, of which 35.57 square miles is land and 0.75 square miles is water. The town sits at an elevation of around 7 feet above sea level.
