Allentown

Allentown is the third most populous city in Pennsylvania and the county seat of Lehigh County. It is located in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. As of 2021, Allentown had an estimated population of 121,104 residents.

Sports

In addition to being home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team, Allentown hosted the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team for preseason training camp from 1951 to 1967 at Muhlenberg College. The camp drew thousands of fans each August from across eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The city also has a long history with baseball. From 1884 to 1961, Allentown was home to several minor league baseball teams. Today, the Allentown Railers Baseball Club plays collegiate summer baseball at Allentown’s Bicentennial Park.

For youth sports, the Allentown Soccer Association offers soccer leagues and camps. The Allentown Youth Baseball Association provides T-ball, baseball, and softball programs.
