Population
Pasadena is a city located in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. According to the Wikipedia page for Pasadena, the city had an estimated population of 142,647 as of 2021, making it the 41st largest city in California.
Pasadena saw rapid population growth in the early 20th century, with the population nearly tripling between 1920 and 1930. Growth began to slow around 1970, and since then population has remained fairly steady at around 140,000 residents.
Pasadena is known for having a highly educated population compared to other cities in the region. Almost half of residents aged 25 or older have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and the city is home to prestigious academic institutions like Caltech and ArtCenter College of Design.

Local Government
Pasadena has an independent city government structure separate from Los Angeles County. The city is governed by a Mayor and a City Council made up of 7 district representatives. Sports

In college sports, the UCLA Bruins football team plays their home games at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium. UCLA has won one national championship in football, back in 1954 under coach Red Sanders.
Pasadena also hosts some of the most prestigious events in horse racing, including the Breeders Cup World Championships and the Rose Parade Grand Prix. The city’s flagship track is Santa Anita Park.
